DAAD Short-Term Research Grants 2023-2024 [Fully Funded]

Are you interested in postgraduate studies in Germany? The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) is now accepting applications open for it Short term research grants 2023-2024. The primary goal of DAAD is short term Research grants The program is to promote research projects in the context of PhD programmes.

Who can apply?

Excellently qualified doctoral candidates, young academics and scientists who have completed a master’s degree or diploma, or in exceptional cases have a bachelor’s degree at the latest by the time they begin grant-supported research, or those who have already completed a doctoral degree (postdoctoral researchers).
PhD candidates who are fully attending their PhD at a German university are not eligible to apply.

What can be funded?

Research project or continuing science education course at a state or state recognized higher education institution or at a non-university research institute in Germany, carried out in coordination with an academic advisor in Germany.

financing term

  • one month to a maximum of six months; The duration of the scholarship is determined by the selection committee and depends on the project involved and the applicant’s work schedule.
  • The grant is not renewable.

DAAD Short-Term Research Grants || value

  • Depending on academic level, monthly payments
    861. – for graduates,
    1200 EUR – for doctoral and post-doctoral candidates
  • Payments for health, accident and personal liability insurance coverage
  • Travel allowance
  • In the event of disability or chronic illness: Support for additional costs resulting from disability or chronic illness that are not covered by other funding providers.

Language Skills

  • The required language level depends on the applicant’s study plans and subject: in arts, social sciences and law, at least a good knowledge of German is usually expected. For natural sciences and engineering, proof of good English language skills may also be accepted if English is spoken at the host institute. application documents

  • Certificates, proof of credits, certificates and translations in uncredited form can be scanned and uploaded to the DAAD portal. DAAD reserves the right to request certified copies of documents.
